[샌디에고 원투낚시] 2025. 03. 09 @ Sunset Cliffs - 돌틈/수초에 사는 물고기들

2025. 03. 09. 주말 오전 Weekend Surfcasting at Sunset Cliffs

1. 장소 (Location): Sunset Cliffs, SD 샌디에고
2. 시간 & 물때 (Time & Tide):  09:00-12:00,  만조에서 간조  (high to low) 4 to 0 ft
3. 오늘의 조과 (Today's Catch):  락피쉬 1 & 켈프피쉬 1 (1 grass rockfish & 1 Giant kelpfish)
4. 오늘의 채비 (Today's setup)
    - 낚싯대 (Rod): 10ft Daiwa emcast MH
    - 릴 (Reel): KastKing Kapstan SE 3000 원투용
    - 낚싯줄 (Line): 25lb 합사 원줄 + 20lb 카본 목줄
    - 미끼 (Bait): 말린 고등어 & 코스트코 새우

이런저런 낚시를 접해 보고 있다. 주말 오전에 원투 낚시. 장소는 선셋클리프. 파킹이 바로 해안절벽 옆에 있어서 차대기도 편하고 장비를 가지고 멀리 갈 필요가 없어서 좋다. I’ve been trying out different types of fishing lately. Last weekend, I went surfcasting(?) in the morning at Sunset Cliffs. The parking is conveniently located right next to the coastal cliffs, making it easy to unload gears without having to walk far 😁.

굳이 낚시를 하지 않더라도, 그냥 서서 멍하니 태평양 바라보기 좋은 곳. 선셋 클리프. Even if you’re not fishing, Sunset Cliffs is a great place to just stand there, zoning out while gazing at the vast Pacific Ocean.

어젯밤에 만들어 놓았던 목줄 채비를 달고 원투~ 읏쌰. 낚싯대를 들고 있으면 좀 더 대처가 빠를 수 있겠지만, 원투는 언제 입질할지 모르므로, 그냥 돌 틈에 박아 놓고. 그냥 세월아~ 내월아~. 옆에 조사님들 낚시하는 거 구경하고 파도 소리 듣고. After setting up the leader which I had prepared the night before, I cast my line—whoosh! While holding the rod might allow for a quicker response to bites, I just wedged the rod securely between some rocks and let time drift by. Watching other anglers, listening to the waves—pure relaxation.

낚이면 좋고, 안 낚이면 다음 기회에~

 
이날은 운 좋게 두 마리의 고기를 잡았다. 두 마리 모두 처음 잡아보는 물고기. 첫 수는 30센치 정도 되는 이름 모를 물고기였는데, Reddit에 물어보니 Giant kelpfish란다. 한국말로는 뭐라고 하는지 모르겠지만. 맛이 좋다는 댓글도 달렸다. 역시 뭔지 모르니 그냥 방생할 수밖에 없다. I was lucky enough to catch two fish, both of which I had never caught before. The first one was about 30 cm long, but I had no idea what it was. I posted it on Reddit, and people identified it as a Giant Kelpfish. Some comments mentioned that it’s tasty. I ended up releasing it.

두 번째 물고기는 그토록 잡고 싶었던, 락피쉬! 한국말로는 우럭쯤 일라나? 옆에 조사님이 Grass rockfish란다. 찾아보니 캘리포니아 연안에서 자주 잡히는 종. 한 25센치는 돼 보였는데, 옆에 조사님이 베이비란다ㅋㅋ... 이런... 그 말만 아니었어도 그냥 집에 가지고 와서 회 몇 점 먹어 보는 건데. 물칸에 넣어놨다가 오기 전에 방생. The second fish was one I had been wanting to catch for a long time—a rockfish! The angler next to me told it was a Grass Rockfish, a common species along the California coast. It looked about 25 cm long, but the angler called it a "baby"—lol. If he hadn’t said that, I might have taken it home and tried sashimi. Eventually released it before heading home 🤣.

역시 장소를 바꾸고, 낚시 방법을 바꾸니 뭐라도 새로운 물고기들이 잡힌다. 주말마다 낚시를 나오는 것 같다. 애들한테 미안하다. ㅋㅋㅋ 조만간 애들이랑 송어낚시를 또 가야 될 듯하다.  Switching up the fishing spot and technique definitely brought in some new catches. It seems like I’m going fishing every weekend now. I feel a little bit sorry to wife and kids and I should probably take the kids out for some trout fishing soon! 🎣
