2025. 01. 24. 출근 전 짬낚, 광어는 어디에 있나

1. 장소 (Location): Harbor Island, SD 샌디에고
2. 시간 & 물때 (Time & Tide): 오전 07:00 - 08:30시 (07:00 - 08:30 am),  날물 (outgoing tide) 4-3 ft
3. 오늘의 조과 (Today's Catch):  3 매퉁이 (3 Lizard Fish) + 4 고등어 (4 mackerel)
4. 오늘의 채비 (Today's setup)
    - 낚싯대 (Rod): 6' 6" Uglystick GX2 custom ro
    - 릴 (Reel): 다이와 23 레가리스 LT 3000-CHX (Daiwa 23 Legalis LT 3000-CHX)
    - 낚싯줄 (Line): 원줄 합사 15lb 테스트 (15lb braid main) & 목줄 카본 15lb 테스트 (15lb fluoro leader)
    - 루어 (Lure)
             a. 다이소 타이라바 30g (Daiso Tai Rubber 30g)
             b. 루웍스 SLJ 비스트 메탈지그 (Luworks SLJ beast metal jig 30g)

 

다이소에 가면 간단한 낚시 용품들이 있다. 그건 미국도 마찬가진데, 흥미 있게 보다가 미국에선 잘하지 않은 루어를 발견. 타이라바. 참돔 낚시에 주로 쓴단다. 선상 낚시를 전혀 하진 않지만 하나 사봤다. 광어가 물어 주길 바라며... At Daiso, you can find simple fishing gear. It's the same in the U.S., but I came across an interesting lure not commonly used in US (at least I haven't seen anyone using this);Tai-rubber, mainly for red seabream fishing. I don't usually go boat fishing, but I bought one, hoping to catch a legal California halibut.

약간 쌀쌀한 아침 날씨. 타이라바를 30분 정도 열심히 자리를 열심히 옮겨 보았지만 별로 소득이 없다.ㅋㅋ 여기 고기들은 저런 쪼끄만 문어나 오징어 모양을 본 적이 없는 가보다. A bit chilly morning. I spent about 30 minutes moving around & casting with the Tai-rubber, but with little success. 😂 Looks like the fish here have never seen/preyed on such tiny octopus or squid shapes before.

Tide Chart & Fish Activity

 

나는 광어를 잡고 싶다. 하지만 짬낚에는 대상어종이고 나발이고 중요하지 않다ㅋㅋ 시간이 얼마 없으므로 캐스팅이 용이한 메탈지그로 바꿨다. 한국에서 온 루웍스 지깅메탈인데, 캐스팅도 멀리 할 수 있고, 무엇보다 리트리브 할 때 스푼처럼 횡으로 움직이는 모션이 아주 좋다. 뭐 테무나 알리에서 산 루어들에 고기가 안 물어 주는 것은 아니나 테 무나 알리에서 산 지깅메탈보다 훨씬 좋다. 좀 더 사올껄 그랬나. I want to catch a legal halibut. But when it comes to quick fishing sessions, target species don’t really matter. 😂 With limited time, I switched to a metal jig. It’s a jigging metal from LuWorks, brought from Korea. It casts far and, more importantly, has a great side-to-side motion like a spoon when retrieved. Sure, fish will bite lures from Temu or AliExpress, but this one is much better than the jigging metals from those sites. I should’ve bought more of them!

약속의 루어인가... 귀신같이 첫 캐스팅에 매퉁이가 올라왔다. 역시나 뭐라도 잡히니 신난다. 총 세 마리 매퉁이 잡았는데, 기생충은 없었으나, 빵이 작아서 모두 다 방생. The lure of promise, perhaps? Amazingly, I caught a catfish on the very first cast. I ended up catching three lizard fish in total. There were no parasites, but they were too small, so I released them all back.

이 루어는 착수하고 물속에서 떨어질 때, 좌우로 움직임이 아주 좋다. 그래서 그런지 착수 후에 루어가 자유낙하 하면서 입질이 많이 들어왔다. 메탈 지그로 잘 잡히는 어종엔 고등어가 있는데, 역시나 고등어가 올라옴. 고등어는 때로 다니는 물고기라 계속 던져 주니, 계속 잡혔다. 사진은 한 장 밖에 안 찍었지만, 총 4마리. 고등어 집에 가져다주고 출근. 한 마리는 회로, 세 마리는 구이로. 와이프 말로는 고등어 회는 냄새도 안 나고 맛있었다 한다.. This lure has excellent side-to-side movement as it sinks after hitting the water. Maybe that's why I got a lot of bites during the free-fall. One species that’s great for metal jigs is mackerel, and sure enough, I caught one. Since mackerel move in schools, I kept casting and kept catching. Took 4 mackerel home before heading to work—one for sashimi, three for grilling. My wife said the mackerel sashimi didn’t smell at all and was delicious.
