샌디에고 민물낚시 - 2025 8. 3. @ Evan's Pond, 큰 아들 낚시 자신감 되찾아 주기

2025. 08. 02 - 03. 5연 꽝 친 큰 아들 자신감 찾아주러 동네 연못으로 아들 둘이랑 낚시감.  Weekend Pond Fishing with the Boys

 

🎣 8월 2-3일 (주말) 오후 4-6 시 (August 2&3, 4-6 PM)

• 조황: 각종 선피쉬 & 거북이 ㅋㅋ (Multiple sunfish & 1 turtle)
• 장소: 에반스 연못, 스크립스 랜치 (Evan's pond, Scripps Ranch)
• 채비: 5-6피트 접히는 연질성향 싼 아마존 낚싯대 (Cheap kid's rod from Amazon) + 추 달린 찌 (Weighted bobber) + 버클리사 가짜미끼 (Berkely Honey worm & Earth worn & Maggot)

 

큰 아들은 다섯번 연속으로 바다낚시를 꽝쳤다. 5연 꽝. 바다낚시를 안 가려 해서, 자신감도 찾아 줄 겸, 주말 이틀 두 번 낚시를 갔다. 에반스 연못 (Evan's Pond): 스크립스 도서관 옆에 있는 작은 연못이다. 작년에 낚시 시작 했을 때, 본인도 자주 가서 낚시를 한 곳이다. 아들 뭐라도 잡게 해주고 싶어서... ㅎㅎ 물이 유입되는 연못도 아니고, 전체적으로 깊이가 1미터도 안 되는 곳이라 더운 여름엔 실 같은 녹조류들이 많이 있다. 물색도 거의 똥물이지만 냄새는 안남. After five skunked shore fishing trips, my older son was losing confidence in fishing. So over the weekend, we went to Evan’s Pond—just the two boys and me—to help him get back into it.

여름이라 가족 단위로 나와서 낚시하는 사람들이 꽤 있다. 이틀 다 한 세네 가족은 보였는듯. 어린아이들 낚시시키기 참 좋은 연못이다. 조용하고, 물도 깊지 않고, 군데군데 앉을자리도 마련돼 있고, 바로 옆 도서관도 있어 주차도 용이. 배스, 메기, 선피쉬, 틸라피아가 있다고 알려진 연못이지만 여름엔 녹조류가 너무 많아 그냥 찌달고 미끼 달고 작은 블루길 낚시하기 좋다. 버클리에서 나온 각종 가짜미끼가 잘 먹힘 (꾸릿꾸릿한 냄새). 찌밑 수심 20-30 cm 주고, 그냥 발 앞에 캐스팅.  We went to Evan’s Pond, a small neighborhood pond next to the Scripps library. I used to fish there a lot when I first started, and it’s a perfect spot for kids—shallow (less than a meter deep), quiet, and easy to access. Even though the water looks murky and filled with algae during the summer, it doesn’t smell bad. It’s known to have bass, catfish, sunfish, and tilapia, but in summer, we just focus on catching small bluegill with a float and stinky Berkley bait, 20–30 cm below the float, casting right in front of us.

주말 이틀 다 오후 4-6시 사이에 짬낚. 큰아들 작은아들. 둘이서 있는 모습을 사진에 담아 봄. Both days, we fished for about two hours in the late afternoon (around 4–6 PM). I snapped a few photos of the two boys fishing side-by-side.

토요일에는 큰 아들이 나 보다 훨씬 많이 잡았다. 겨울에 한번 왔을 때, 물고기가 전혀 입질도 없더니... 이틀 동안 그냥 던지면 입질이 쭉쭉. 집나갔던 선피쉬 블루길들이 다시 돌아왔는가. 사실 민물고기는 잘 모른다. 그래서 우린 그냥 블루길처럼 생겼으면 다 블루길이라 부르기로 했다. ㅋㅋㅋ 둘째 아들은 꽝! On Saturday, my older son caught way more than me—nonstop bites. Honestly, I can't really tell freshwater fish apart, so anything that looks like a bluegill, we just call it a bluegill. 😂 My younger son got skunked that day.

일요일은 둘째도 꽝을 면함. 한 마리 였지만 제일 큰 블루길을 잡음. 커봐야 우리 아들 손바닥 보다 조금 큰 사이즈. 이날은 본인이 마릿수. 큰 아들은 한 세 마리... On Sunday, my younger son caught the biggest fish of the trip (still palm-sized), and my older son landed a few.

뭔가 묵직한게 끌려와서 수초를 잔뜩 감았나 했는데... 오잉... 거북이가 딸려 나옴. 물릴까 무서웠으나 다행히 바늘 빼서 방생. 물로 돌아갈 때 엄청 빨리 감... 거북이가 그렇게 빠른 줄 처음 알았음. 큰 아들이 잡은 기록 물고기도 같이 기록. At one point, I thought I hooked into a weed pile, but it turned out to be... a turtle! I was a bit nervous it might bite, but I managed to unhook it and release it safely. It bolted back into the water—I never knew turtles could move that fast.

이렇게 2025년 8월 여름의 한 주말 끝. We wrapped up the weekend with full photo records and happy kids. A great little summer memory in August 2025.
